We work across five core program areas to empower young women and strengthen democratic governance in Sierra Leone.
YWDF supports young women to engage meaningfully in elections, advocacy, and policy influencing. This includes electoral education, voter registration drives, and leadership training.
Through initiatives like the GEWE Act Awareness Campaign, YWDF promotes gender-responsive policies and strengthens implementation of the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Act (2022).
Regular training programs cover: Parliamentary processes, Digital advocacy tools, Feminist leadership, and Outcome mapping for advocacy planning.
In partnership with GNWP, YWDF brings peacebuilding and gender equality closer to grassroots communities through localised dialogues and awareness sessions.
A nationwide campaign in partnership with Pure Matrimony to educate children about body safety and prevent sexual abuse.
